What is on your account page?

Your account page holds the settings that belong to you rather than to the workspace: how you appear to colleagues, the email you sign in with, what buzzes your devices and who covers for you while you are away. Open it from your avatar at the foot of the left menu: User menu › Account settings. The page is titled Account.

Every signed-in person has one. You do not need to be an admin.

Why does it exist?

Because the workspace's settings and yours are different jobs. Settings is where admins shape the workspace for everyone, such as members, permissions and modules. Your account page is where you shape your own corner of it, without asking anybody.

When Priya Raman joins Fairgreen Golf Co., an admin invites her. Everything after that, from her photo to her quiet hours, she sets herself on this page.

What is on it?

From top to bottom:

• Your name and photo, with no heading of its own: Change photo, Display name and Username, saved with Save on the Unsaved changes bar at the top of the page. See How to change your name, photo and sign-in email.
• Email address: the address you sign in with, changed with Update email. Also in How to change your name, photo and sign-in email.
• Notifications: Turn on notifications for the device you are using, then Send test notification. See How to turn on notifications.
• Out of office: a colleague who acts with your standing until a date you choose. See How to hand over your work while you are away.
• What buzzes you: Your time zone, Quiet hours, Default for channels and four switches (Task reminders, Low-stock alerts, Notable order alerts and Suggestions). Where your workspace has calls, it also holds Ghost mode, which keeps the Agent out of your call notes, per How to start a call and take notes.

The same user menu shows your name and @username at the top, and Sign out at the bottom.

Which settings follow you between devices?

Your name, photo, username and email are yours everywhere, in every workspace you belong to.

Everything under What buzzes you follows you from laptop to phone, and is kept for each workspace. If you belong to two workspaces, set your quiet hours and alert switches in each. While Your time zone follows your device, it changes to match whichever device you are using.

Turn on notifications is set per browser and per device. Turning it on for your laptop does nothing for your phone, so do it on each one where you want the buzz.

When should you visit it?

On your first day, and before you go away.

On day one, set a Display name colleagues will recognise, because that is what they type after @ to mention you. Add a photo, since faces are quicker to scan than initials on a task list. Then turn notifications on and send yourself a test.

Before a holiday or a trade show, set Out of office so that a purchase order waiting on you does not sit there until you are back.

Is there a password to change?

No. Tideswell has no passwords, so there is nothing to reset or rotate. You sign in with your email, and changing that address is covered in How to change your name, photo and sign-in email.

How do you switch between light and dark mode?

Press the sun or moon button beside your avatar at the foot of the left menu. Its label names the mode you would switch to: Switch to light mode or Switch to dark mode.

Tideswell starts in dark mode and remembers your choice in that browser.
