It appears in the same dropdown as the built-in views, covered in . ## Before you start [#before-you-start] Creating, editing and deleting lists needs write access to the store surfaces. Anyone with view access can open and read a list somebody else built. ## Why would you want one? [#why-would-you-want-one] Because the built-in views rank the whole catalogue, and sometimes the question is about a specific set of products rather than the business as a whole. Fairgreen keeps a list for the autumn drop. During launch week, one click shows those twelve items and nothing else, which is a different question from "what is low across the catalogue". Other lists that earn their place: one supplier's range while you are trialling them, and the handful of lines a wholesale account has committed to. ## How do you build one? [#how-do-you-build-one] Open the view dropdown and choose **New list…**. Give the list a name, then search the catalogue by product name or SKU. The picker pre-loads products, so it is useful before you have typed anything. Expand a product to see its variants. Tick individual variants, or tick the product itself to select every variant at once. A partly selected product shows a half-state on its checkbox. A running **N selected** count sits alongside, and each variant shows its SKU and current stock while you pick, so you can build the list and sanity-check it at the same time. Save it, and it appears under **Your lists** in the dropdown and opens straight away. Names can run to 80 characters. ## Does a list keep itself up to date? [#does-a-list-keep-itself-up-to-date] No. A list is a fixed set of variants: it holds exactly what you picked, and adding a new product to your catalogue does not add it here. That is the right behaviour for a launch or a season, which is a fixed set by definition. It is worth knowing before you build a list called "everything from Portside Mills" and expect it to grow. For a set that does keep up with itself, use the vendor filter on a built-in view instead. ## How do you change what is in one? [#how-do-you-change-what-is-in-one] Open the list from the dropdown and press **Edit**. That is also where you rename it. The picker works exactly as it did when you built it, so removing a variant is unticking it. ## How do you delete one? [#how-do-you-delete-one] **Delete**, which asks for confirmation first. The view then falls back to the default, Top 100 by units. A link pointing at a list that has since been deleted quietly falls back to the default view rather than showing an error, so an old bookmark keeps working rather than breaking. ## Can you link straight to a list? [#can-you-link-straight-to-a-list] Yes. The address carries the view, so a saved list can be sent to a colleague or bookmarked for launch week. The same is true of a vendor filter, which is how a supplier's stock gets linked from elsewhere in Tideswell. See .
