# How to use the one-click digest buttons



Under the composer sit seven ready-made questions. One click asks a carefully written version
of a question you would otherwise type badly, which is why they are worth using even once you
are fluent. See <Ref to="analyst" /> for the analyst itself.

## What are the seven? [#what-are-the-seven]

Two are shown larger because they are the daily pair.

* **Yesterday's numbers**: revenue, orders and average order value against the same day last
  week, calling out anything that moved more than 20%.
* **Where are we weak**: this week's sales broken down, then where you are underperforming and
  what to do about it, ranked by the size of the opportunity.

Then five more:

* **This week vs last**: this week so far against the same stretch last week, with what is
  driving the difference at product level.
* **Running low**: products by days of cover, lowest first, flagging strong sellers.
* **Dead stock**: what has not sold in 60 days, and how much cash is tied up in it.
* **Stuck orders**: what is in the fulfilment backlog, how old the oldest is, and whether
  anything is blocked on stock.
* **Email & SMS check**: how your Klaviyo flows and segments are performing, and which is
  slipping.

## Why use a button instead of typing? [#why-use-a-button-instead-of-typing]

Because the prompt behind each one is sharper than what most people type.

**Yesterday's numbers** does not just ask for yesterday. It asks for the comparison against the
same weekday last week, which is the only fair comparison, and sets a threshold for what counts
as worth mentioning.

**Where are we weak** asks for a ranking by opportunity size rather than a list. That single
instruction is the difference between a paragraph and a plan for the morning.

## Does a digest join my current conversation? [#does-a-digest-join-my-current-conversation]

No. Clicking one always starts a **new** conversation.

That is deliberate: a prepared question appended to an unrelated thread would inherit context
that has nothing to do with it, and the answer would quietly drift.

Follow-ups after a digest work normally, so you can click **Running low** and then ask "which
of those are from Portside Mills" in the same thread.

## Which ones are worth a daily habit? [#which-ones-are-worth-a-daily-habit]

**Yesterday's numbers** first thing, and **Stuck orders** if you ship a lot. Those two take
under a minute together and catch most of what goes wrong overnight.

**Running low** and **Dead stock** are weekly rather than daily. Both are also full screens
with more control, at <Ref to="inventory/find-what-to-reorder" /> and
<Ref to="inventory/running-out-oversold-and-dead" />, and the buttons are the quick version.

**Where are we weak** is the one to run before a trading meeting rather than during it.

## Why is a button missing? [#why-is-a-button-missing]

Because the part of Tideswell it reads is switched off for your workspace, so the button is
removed rather than left there to fail.

**Running low** and **Dead stock** belong to stock. **Email & SMS check** belongs to
customers. The rest belong to the store.

If every button is unavailable and the composer carries a message, the analyst itself is
switched off workspace-wide.
